Tre Venezie, “Three Venices”, refers to a vast area situated in north-eastern Italy, comprising the three regions of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige. All of these have in common a hilly landscape, with mountainous areas, rivers and valleys. The Tre Venezie are protected from the cold winds from north of the Alps and enjoy the warm currents of the Adriatic Sea. Today, the Tre Venezie, home of the most prestigious schools for oenology, are one of the wealthiest areas in Italy and a leader in the production of high-quality white wines, with fermentation at controlled temperatures, the use of selected yeasts and a new approach to the density of vines planted in the vineyards.
